PRIVACY POLICY

HIPAA has an exemption that allows the release of PHI for tissue donation without the donor’s authorization. This exemption applies to the procurement, banking, or transplantation of tissue and is intended to make the coordination of tissue more efficient and timely.  The exemption applies as soon as a potential donor is identified and allows medical professionals involved in the donation process to access the donor’s medical information.  Above and beyond, Birth Tissue Registry and AmnioGift LLC has a CITI Program and still maintains fidelity to HIPPA guidelines.
